Who We Are
Michael E. Zagury, MPA has 40+ years of public safety experience in police, fire and emergency medical services. Mike holds degrees in Sociology, Criminal Justice and Public Administration, Studied at Wroxton College, Wroxton, England and is a graduate of the prestigious FBI National Academy-190 Session.
He has served on non-profit and NGO boards, has testified for public safety legislation at the state and Federal level, authored numerous training products and co-authored the “Faith and Communities in Action” guide for the White House Office of Faith Based Services. He is a Senior Police Advisor for The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) International Police Education and Training (IPET) funded by the US Department of State and is certified in IACP Leadership in Police Organizations (LPO).
Mike has provided a diverse array of training and technical assistance to federal, state, local, tribal and non-profit organizations which includes the US Department of Justice, FBI Academy Quantico VA, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, National Criminal Justice Training Center, National Institute of Justice, Community Oriented Policing Services, the International Association of Chiefs of Police-Leadership and Education Division, NJ Division of Children and Families, NJ Police Training Commission, University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ, Rutgers University, in addition to 13 years of teaching experience as an adjunct professor of criminal justice.
June A. Zagury, MA, BSN, RN is a licensed registered nurse and professional consultant/educator with extensive experience in areas of psychiatric nursing, crisis intervention, professional consultation, technical assistance and education. While employed by the Behavioral Research and Training Institute of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey she was responsible for the administration of the statewide training program required for the certification and recertification of New Jersey psychiatric screeners. Additionally, she collaborated with the NJ Police Training Commission to develop and implement the current official NJ police academy recruit curriculum regarding responding to people with mental illness and other special needs. She was also responsible for the initial implementation and management of the Monmouth County Psychiatric Emergency Screening Service. Currently she provides technical assistance and training for local universities, human service and public safety agencies.
